Like most things, "it depends" I've owned a 2005 Tacoma (V-6 4x4 TRD) and I loved that Taco....got around 24 mpg so good enough for my commuter car and she even pulled around an 18-foot camper all around Colorado for us. In 2015, we wanted to trade in the 18 footer for a 32-foot camper so, …Maintenance will be higher on the Tundra just because it's a bigger truck. As far as long distance comfort, that's where we can't advise you. You need to sit in both and decide for yourself. For me, my taco is much more comfortable than the Tundra when I bought it, and make 8 hour drives on a semi-regular basis..
